Blakestown Community School Variety Show 2010
It’s show time in Blakestown!! Blakestown Community School is hosting its annual variety show on Tuesday the 21st of December 2010. The tickets cost €3 for the day time show stating at 2pm and €5 for the evening performance starting at 7:30pm. This year the show promises to be an exciting and memorable spectacle. In the true spirit of the Blakestown School Variety Show we will be bringing snippets of world famous musicals to your door. Musicals this year include Bugsy Malone, Chicago and the hip and happening Glee. Also on the night we will be showcasing some of Blakestowns most talented singers and dancers in their own unique acts.
This year the show will definitely bring challenges to the participating students. Under the instruction and supervision of Ms. Moran, over the past two years, the participation in the main ‘group’ variety show acts, has grown. We are delighted to announce that we now have in the region of 90 students taking part in these musical theatre dance acts. In addition Ms. Kirwan and Ms. Guckian has been supervising and coaching some of our talented singers to perform on the night. This exciting growth represents the interest, in the field of Performing Arts among the students in Blakestown Community School. For the 2010 show, the students are currently in training, in a confined time frame given the weather conditions, in order to master and perform some of the choreography made famous by world renowned choreographers and dance steps which have been performed both in the West End and on Broadway.
